Description

The Marquis of Granby Public House and Sykes shoe repairs is a restored 17th century inn, featuring a shoe repair workshop in what were once stables. The building stands two storeys high and is constructed in a timber-framed "black and white" style, with cement infilling on a stone base and a slate roof. The right-hand gable end is roughcast up to the eaves. The windows are restored casements with leaded glass, and the doors are restored batten doors. The building is dated 1660. It forms a group with the former National School and the Marquis of Granby Public House.
