Description
Briary Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse located on Whitegate Road in Marton. It is timber framed with whitewashed infill and originally had a thatched roof, which has since been replaced with slate. The building stands two storeys tall and features an entrance front with nine sections of small framing, supported by angle braces on the left and right, as well as on either side of the third post from the left. There is a doorway located to the left of the centre, accompanied by three ground floor three-light casement windows. A 19th-century raking dormer window with a three-light casement is present above. To the left, there is a 19th-century lean-to addition. The right side of the farmhouse has five sections of small framing, also with angle braces, and includes a queen post and V-strut at the gable. On this side, there is a two-light 19th-century casement window to the left on the ground floor and a similar two-light window in the centre of the first floor.
