Description

Dyers Farmhouse is an early to mid-17th century farmhouse, with additions from the early 19th century and subsequent alterations. It is timber-framed with limewashed brick nogging, a stone plinth, a slate roof, and a tile ridge. A triple brick stack rises from the centre of the ridge, with further brick stacks to the rear. The farmhouse is originally a T-shaped plan, with a projecting front facing the left gable. A brick projecting gable was added to the right. It has one-and-a-half to two storeys. Windows are timber casements in moulded frames, some of which have been renewed. A central dormer window is present. There is a broad ledge and batten door. A later wing features near flush casements with segmental brick heads and tile sills. Inside, you’ll find moulded beams and joists, an inglenook fireplace, a three-sided cupboard with panelled oak doors at the base of the central stack, a ledge and batten door with panelling on one side, and a simple oak staircase.
