Description
Church Lane Bridge is a disused railway bridge built around 1886. It is constructed of brindled engineering brick faced with rock-faced red sandstone and features cambered stone copings. The bridge has a semicircular arch made of shaped voussoirs that springs from impost bands in splayed abutments. The coping of the bridge supports a wooden fence, which may have replaced the original parapet. This bridge was part of the Parkgate line of the former Birkenhead, Lancashire and Cheshire Junction Railway and now forms part of the Wirral Way Footpath.
