Description

A row of three cottages dating from the 1830s, located on Brook Street. The cottages are constructed of brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a grey slate roof running parallel to the front. They have a painted stone plinth and each cottage has a round-arched doorway with a six-panel door and a radial-bar fanlight. Painted stone sills are present, along with a first-floor sillband and wedge lintels. The window openings remain unaltered. The ground floor of No. 120 features a 16-pane sash window, while Nos. 122 and 124 have replaced windows, the latter being casements. The first floor also has sash and casement windows, similarly featuring 16 panes to Nos. 120 and 122. A moulded cornice sits above, followed by a single-course parapet of painted stone. Each cottage has a brick chimney positioned both before and behind the ridge. The interiors were not inspected, and the rear of the properties are not visible from public vantage points.
