Description
The barn located 20 meters west of Gorstage Bank, dated 1702, features some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed with timber framing and has brick and plastered nogging on a stone and brick base, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The barn has a rectangular plan and is two stories high with a three-bay east front. It includes 16 by 2 and 3 irregular small frames with angle braces. There are two large inserted openings with double board doors located in the center and at the right end, along with a stable door at the left end. A beam in the center is carved with "LAB 1702." The end walls are made of brick, while the rear wall is timber framed. Inside, the central bay is open to the roof, preserving part of the stone threshing floor. The interior also features queen post trusses and wind-braced trenched purlins.
