Description
The Dock Office, built around 1890, is a two-storey office building shaped like a broad arrow and features eight bays. It is constructed of red Ruabon brick and has stone parapet copings on the end gables, which are designed as open pediments. An octagonal clock tower is present, adorned with Tuscan window surrounds and an entablature at the square uppermost stage, topped with a cupola roof. The building has a stone mullioned two-storey bay facing Dock Street, which includes two-pane sash windows. The main (south-east) elevation features four-pane recessed sashes, with rounded arched lintels on the lower storey and pointed arched lintels on the upper storey. A classical entrance portico is also present, featuring simplified Ionic capitals on the columns.
