Description

Yew Tree Farm House is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the late 17th century but has an appearance typical of the early 19th century. It is constructed of brown brick in Flemish bond and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a three-bay façade. The entrance consists of a six-panel door set in a heavy frame, topped with a pitched-roof hood that has barge boards and a finial, supported by shaped brackets on timber corbels. The windows are recessed sashes, mostly arranged in pairs, with turned mullions in front of central weight boxes, stone sills, and flat arches above. The eaves have a moulded gutter resting on ornamental brackets, and the gables are finished with stone copings and kneelers, along with gable end stacks.

The layout includes two rear wings on the north side, forming an 'F' shaped plan. Inside, there are six-panel doors and wide boarded doors, with one door featuring strap hinges. The ceilings have chamfered beams and exposed joists. A 19th-century dogleg staircase is present, featuring flat balusters, rectangular newels, and a deep handrail. On the first floor, wide-boarded doors are mounted on HL hinges, and all beams are covered in plaster. The attic contains wide boarded doors, original purlins, and rafters that are joined without a ridge, reflecting the late 17th-century style.
