Description
The corn barn, located 30 meters north of Golborne Old Hall, dates from the late 17th century, with an addition made in 1886. It is constructed of orange brick in English bond and features a Welsh slate roof. The barn is two stories high and has three bays, with a revised bond at the first floor that rises over a central entrance with an elliptical head on the west front. The upper storey includes a line of tall ventilation slots, and there are similar slots in the gable end, although these are now blocked. An outshut has been added to the east side. Inside, there is a new floor throughout, and the roof trusses are supported by weak diagonal struts.
