Description
Hatton Hall is a farmhouse built around 1830. It is constructed of Flemish bond red brick, featuring some yellow headers, and has a Welsh slate roof that projects at the eaves and verges. The building has two gable brick chimneys and a double-pile plan. It is three stories high with a symmetrical three-bay front. The end bays have three-light wooden casements with panels of small-pane glazing above, set under plastered wedged brick heads and with stone sills. The top storey has simpler three-light casements. A late 19th-century brick porch with planted timbers in the gable contains a six-panelled door, with similar two-light windows above. Inside, there is an entry lobby leading to a well staircase featuring plain balusters and a curving mahogany handrail. The interior also includes four-panelled doors and some exposed ceiling beams. Hatton Hall stands within a well-preserved medieval moat and was built to replace a significant timber-framed manor house.
