Description

A row of five cottages at 6-10 Priory Place, built between 1899 and 1932 for the Chester Cottage Improvement Company. The cottages are constructed of stone-dressed brown brick with a grey slate roof and are designed to mirror Nos 1-5 Priory Place. The front features five doors, each with a single step, tall, thin panels below a cross panel with leaded glazing, and stone lintels, one inscribed "A.D. : 1899". Each cottage has a stone-mullioned flush-quoined three-light leaded casement window on the ground floor, and a single-light leaded casement window on the first floor. A first-floor band runs along the facade, with stone quoins and mullions to the windows. A central terracotta panel is inscribed "C:CI:C". Cast iron rainwater pipes and heads are present, along with exposed eaves-rafters, a terracotta finial, two ridge chimneys, and a shaped flush chimney at the right end. The rear elevation is simply detailed. The interiors were not inspected.
