Description
The bridge over the drive in the north part of Overleigh Cemetery was built around 1848 by T.M. Penson. It is constructed of red sandstone and features a semicircular arch that springs from just above the level of the drive, with drystone retaining walls supporting the cutting. The span of the arch is approximately 3 meters. This bridge is an integral part of the cemetery's picturesque design, which includes sandstone outcrops where mid-19th century tombs and monuments are situated among groves of trees.
