Description

This house dates from the early 18th century and has been altered since. It is constructed of limewashed brick with a slate roof and stone dressings. The building has a deep rendered plinth and extends over two storeys with attics and cellars. The windows are sash windows in flush frames; those on the ground floor have splayed heads constructed of rusticated voussoirs with a raised keystone, while those on the first floor have splayed brick heads. A pedimented doorcase, featuring a shallow pulvinated frieze, Doric columns, and a six-panel door, is located in the left-hand bay, approached by a flight of six stone steps. A moulded stone cornice runs along the top of the building, and stone gable parapets top the structure. Brick stacks are positioned at the gable ends. Inside, the doors are of six panels. The group value stems from its contribution to the character of the area.
