Description

The cross in St Mary's Churchyard is a churchyard cross with a lower part dating from the medieval period and an upper part added in 1907. It is made of sandstone and features a square base consisting of two steps, which is inscribed with "REMOVED AD 1543: RESTORED AD 1907." Above this base is an octagonal plinth and an octagonal stem with oblique sides that stop above the plinth. The stem is adorned with a band of winged cherub-heads, while the upper stem and cross were added in the 20th century.
