Description

Two cottages, dating from around 1800, were re-ordered internally and to the rear in the 1970s. They are constructed of English garden wall bond brown brick with a grey slate roof, the ridge running parallel to the front. The cottages have a cellar and three storeys, with each cottage comprising one bay. Two steps lead to each front door; the steps to No.8 have been repaired. The doors consist of four fielded panels above two flush panels, set within repaired timber frames and covered by hoods supported by brackets. The windows are flush sashes, with two windows per storey. The windows on the first and second storeys have 12 panes each, while those on the third storey have 9. They feature painted stone sills and gauged brick heads. A simple flush eaves line is present, along with a brick chimney on the east gable of No.8 and another on the ridge of No.10. The rear of the cottages abuts a 1970s block of flats. The interiors were not inspected.
