Description

No. 6 Queens Place is a town house dating from around 1770. It is built from Flemish bond brown brick and features a grey slate roof. The building has three storeys, possibly with a cellar, and consists of one bay.

The exterior includes a stone plinth with cellar vents and a stone step leading to the entrance door, which has five fielded panels and a three-pane overlight. This door is set within a fluted Roman Doric doorcase that has a frieze and pediment. The windows are flush tripartite sashes, one for each storey, with painted stone sills and wedge lintels. The ground floor window has a configuration of four, twelve, and four panes, while the first floor features a Palladian window with a three-pane fan and four panes. The second floor has a window with three, nine, and three panes. A cast-iron rainwater pipe and head are located on the right side, and a chimney is positioned on the left.

The right side of the building has a tripartite sash on the ground floor, although the glazing bars have been removed. There is a 12-pane flush sash on the first floor and a sash with removed bars on the second floor. The rear of the house has flush sashes with 16, 12, and 6 panes. A chimney is located on the rear slope of the roof. The interior has not been inspected.
