Description
Nos 6 to 10 on Little Street are a charming range of former cottages dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with some later alterations. The exterior features painted roughcast that reveals earlier timber framing on the gabled ends and at the rear. The building has one storey and an attic, with two gabled dormers featuring 19th-century iron casements, along with two rectangular dormers that have casement windows and slate pentice roofs. The slate roof has old stone slates on the rear slope. The ground floor has generally been altered with 19th-century and modern shop fronts. The timber framing on the gabled ends, which rest on a stone base, is unusually well-preserved. Nos 6 to 12 on Little Street form a group with No 1 Wagg Street.
