Description
12 and 14 Swan Bank are early 19th-century buildings made of brick with a stone plinth. They stand three storeys high and feature five sash windows, each with flat brick arches and stone sills. The ground floor has a central half-elliptical rusticated arch, which is fitted with a later fanlight and a divided ledged door. On either side of this central opening, there are semi-circular headed doorways; the left side has a plain fanlight and a four-panelled door, while the right side has a radial fanlight and a modern glazed door with steps leading up. The buildings have moulded wood eaves and are topped with slate roofs. The ground floor has modern office-type fronts, with the front of No 14 including glazing bars. Nos 12 and 14, along with the National Westminster Bank, form a group with No 2 and the Bull's Head Hotel on Mill Street.
