Description

The Watch Tower, originally known as the Pigeon House, is a building from the early 18th century that has undergone later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red Flemish bond brick and features a stone slate roof. The building is three storeys high and has a square plan.

On the entrance front, there is a projecting plinth and chamfered quoins at the corners made of rubbed brick. A band runs between the ground and first floors, which slightly breaks forward over the central door. This door is surrounded by chamfered quoins and has a flat arched head made of gauged brick. To the left of the door, there is a 20th-century single-light window. The first floor has a central window with five by four sash panes, which likely originally had three casement lights, set in a moulded surround with ovolo-moulded sides and chamfered quoins. The second floor features a two-light casement window.

There are 20th-century single-storey additions on both the right and left sides of the building. On the right side, there is a 20th-century sun-porch on the ground floor and a single-light window to the left. A 20th-century plate glass window is located on the first floor to the right, while a 19th-century two-light casement window is positioned in the centre of the second floor.

At the rear, there is a central 19th-century four-paned sash window, with two two-light casement windows on the first floor. A blocked mezzanine window rises through the first and second floors, and there is a two-light window on the second floor to the right.
