Description
Vicarage Cottage and Fir Tree Cottage are early 19th-century cottages located on Narrow Lane in Crewe. They feature whitened brickwork arranged in Flemish Bond and have gabled roofs covered with blue tiles. The cottages are designed in an "L" shape, with each having a single storey and an attic, consisting of two bays. The windows are three-light leaded lattice style, fitted with gudgeon hung metal casements in wooden frames that include turning pieces and cambered arches. The front doors are either six-panel or boarded and are set within gabled porches. The first-floor windows are located in gabled dormers or at the apexes of the gables, which are adorned with barge boards and finials. Inside, there are ledged and battened doors as well as six-panel doors, and the purlins are exposed. The cottages are listed for their group value.
