Description

Blue Bell Cottage is a late 17th-century cottage situated on Narrow Lane, in Crewe Green. The building is primarily constructed of whitened brick, with remnants of a timber frame and a tiled roof. It is two storeys high, with two bays originally and a single-storey addition to the west. It has leaded lattice windows with gudgeon-hung metal casements. A single first-floor window is contained within a gabled half-dormer with bargeboards. The front door is ledged and battened, and has an inserted glass panel, sheltered by a small gabled hood. Timber framing is visible only at the first-floor level of the front facade, displaying small framing with angle braces. A single gable stack is present. Internally, the cottage features bevelled beams and exposed ceiling joists. The cottage is listed for group value only.
