Description
Birchall Moss Hall is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 16th century or 17th century. It is timber framed with rendered infill and a plain tile roof. The front of the building features a projecting wing on the right, which has a stone plinth and six by four cells of uneven small framing, with additional framing in the gable. To the left, there is a recessed range with thirteen by three cells of small framing and tension braces. At the far left, a beam has a double four-centered arch cut into it, which may have once served as the lintel for a now-blocked window. The left gable end displays five by four cells of small framing, with timber framing in the gable and a significant amount of new timber. The rear side has thirteen by three cells of uneven small framing on the right, while the left features a projecting gabled wing with six by three cells of small framing and a timbered gable. All the windows are of 20th-century date.
