Description
Siddington Manor is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of rendered brick with stone dressings and has two storeys. The entrance front features seven bays and a stone plinth. A projecting porch is located at the third bay from the left, flanked by pairs of Ionic pilasters on either side of double central glazed doors with a fanlight above. An entablature sits above the porch. On either side of the porch, there are sash windows with three rows and five panes, all with stone sills. A stone band runs between the floors, with aprons featuring raised diamonds falling between the window bays. The first-floor windows, which are all 20th-century replacements, also have three rows and five panes. Above, there is a parapet with a moulded cornice and sunken panels above the windows. The four bays to the right of the entrance have a faster rhythm than those to the left, suggesting a possible later addition.
Inside, the manor was extensively remodelled around 1913. The billiard hall features a panelled ceiling and a six-panel door. The drawing room has a bowed window with three French windows and Adam style ceiling decoration, including a central roundel. The library also has Adam style decoration with a central ceiling roundel and a deep frieze on the upper wall adorned with roundels and swags. The staircase hall is finished with raised and fielded panelling on the walls, decorated lintels above six-panel doors, and Art Nouveau beaten brass door handles and plates. The L-shaped staircase has an open string, spiral balusters, a deep handrail, and panelled newels. The landing is supported by wooden consoles carved with foliage motifs, and the upper landing features a screen of two paired fluted Ionic columns, with additional paired columns on the sides and semi-circular arches above.
