Description
This is a group of three houses dating to around 1840, situated on a corner plot and including a section of Walker Street. The buildings are constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof. The symmetrical section on the right, comprising No. 61 and part of No. 4 Walker Street, has a centrally positioned entrance to No. 61, featuring a segmentally arched doorway with a recessed doorcase. This doorcase has fluted Ionic pilasters, a four-panelled door, and a fanlight. The doorway is flanked by tripartite sash windows set within segmental arches. A stone sill band runs along the three 12-pane sash windows located above. No. 59 features a similar doorway on the left and a full-height, ashlar-faced canted bay. This bay has two-pane sash windows on each face, a cornice over each floor, and a high blocking course. Yellow brick angle quoins are present. The return frontage onto Walker Street has a five-window range, displaying a doorway with a four-panelled door and flanking 12-pane sash windows with wide, splayed brick arches above.
