Description

A group of three houses on a corner site, built around 1820, with later additions. The houses are constructed of ashlar facing brick, with a stone-flagged roof.

Number 35 is three storeys high, with a three-window facade. A central entrance is topped by a cornice hood supported by brackets. There are sixteen-pane sash windows on either side of the entrance, with one window being a replacement with two panes.

Number 37 is two storeys high, featuring a doorway to the left, set within a shallow, projecting, rusticated porch with a round archway. A sixteen-pane sash window is located on the ground floor, with two twelve-pane sashes above. The building has a molded stone eaves cornice and an end wall stack.

Number 2 Great Queen Street is a three-window range forming a return to Number 35 Chester Road. It exhibits a single-unit, double-pile plan. The central entrance is to the right of the house, with the blind right-hand windows belonging to Number 35. The entrance has a four-panelled door within an architrave with Greek key incised decoration, and console brackets to the entablature. There are sixteen-pane sash windows to the left and above. An end wall stack is present, along with a later two-storey brick wing to the right, featuring sixteen-pane sash windows with stone surrounds on each floor.
