Description

A terrace of six cottages built around 1810 in Macclesfield. The cottages are constructed of brick on a stone plinth, with one cottage having a rendered front. They have slate roofs, with a break in the roofline to account for the sloping ground. Each cottage is two storeys high and has a simple two-room layout, with a single window facing the front. Entry is directly into the front room, with a staircase rising from the rear room. The windows have been replaced but retain their original flat-arched brick surrounds. Number 5 retains original 12-pane sashes; the others have been renewed. The doorways have reeded architraves. Original six-panelled doors remain at numbers 5 and 7; the others have been replaced. Brick stacks are located at the ends of the terrace.
