Description

The stables and garage at Mobberley Old Hall, built in 1686, is a farm building that is now used for garage, stable, and storage purposes. It is constructed of plum-coloured English garden wall bond brick with stone dressings and features a stone slate roof. Originally a single-storey structure, a floor was added in the 19th century.

On the drive front, there are two pairs of 20th-century garage doors to the left, a 19th-century segment-headed stable door to the right, and two segment-headed windows adjacent to the door. To the left, there is a 19th-century hay barn that incorporates re-used roof trusses. The right-hand gable end is topped with stone copings and has a datestone in the upper left corner. At the rear, there is a 18th-century outshut.

Inside, the trusses feature angled and arched struts with wind braces, along with two sets of purlins and a ridge beam.
