Description
The buildings at 57 and 59 High Street date from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of red brick with blue brick diapering, featuring stone dressings. The buildings are two storeys high and have gables. A stone plinth and quoins are visible. There are projecting gabled bays on either side, and a slightly projecting gabled bay to the left of centre. Five casement windows are present, the window in the right-hand bay being set within a stone surround with chamfered edges, above a moulded stone cornice. Two doorways have pointed arches, each with a small gabled porch and a ledged door, and the central doorway has a shaped stone head above a ledged door. Diagonal brick stacks are visible, along with plain eaves and slate roofing. A stone-coped forecourt wall sits between the end bays. The buildings are included on the list for their group value.
