Description

A pair of gatepiers, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, are located approximately 20 yards to the north-east of Gawsworth Old Hall. These gatepiers are made of painted ashlar and are square in shape. They feature moulded plinths with a rebate on the inner side that terminates in scrolls. The caps of the piers have roll and cyma mouldings, and each pier is topped with a 20th-century ball finial.
