Description

Newton Hall Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse with later additions. It is constructed of coursed squared buff sandstone rubble with stone dressings, a Kerridge stone-slate roof, and two brick chimneys. The north front has two storeys and three bays. The right-hand bay features a tall, five-light mullioned window with chamfered stone mullions and a moulded flat hood above. A similar three-light window is located above in a gabled half-dormer. The left-hand bay likely originally had a similar appearance but is partially obscured by a brick lean-to, and its upper window is blocked. A chimney is located in the corner of this bay. The central doorway is also concealed by a brick lean-to porch, with a single-light window above. External stone steps lead to a cellar. The left gable displays a four-light square section stone mullioned window and a similar chamfered window above, both dating to the 18th century. The interior has not been inspected.
