Description
The Mews House and Drury Cottage are laundry buildings that have been converted into a pair of cottages. They were built around 1900, although they may include elements from earlier structures. Designed by Richard Harding Watt, the buildings are constructed of painted brick and topped with a slate roof. They are one-and-a-half storeys tall and feature a five-window range, with entrances located in projecting wings at the rear. Each floor has paired round-arched windows, with the upper windows set in gabled dormers. Balconies extend between the wings on the rear elevation. The interior has not been inspected. These buildings are included for their group value as part of a notable development in Free Style architecture, created under the patronage of Richard Harding Watt.
