Description
Numbers 6 and 8 Market Place are a pair of buildings that may have originally been houses or shops with accommodation above, but are now used as shops with offices above. They are constructed of Flemish bond brick and feature a stone-flagged roof. The buildings rise three storeys and have a five-window range. The left side has a late 19th-century shop front, while the right side has a more recent shop front. The upper windows on the right are 16-pane sashes, which have been renewed in their original openings on the left. The second floor features tripartite sashes throughout, and all windows have flat-arched gauged brick heads. The buildings are topped with a modillion eaves cornice and have end wall stacks.
