Description
Hollin Bridge is a public road bridge that spans the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, built around 1816 to 1820. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings. The bridge features a semi-elliptical arch made of rusticated voussoirs and a keystone, along with a plain band. The parapets have rounded coping, and the bridge has curved abutments and rectangular terminal piers. Hollin Bridge is part of a group with Lock No. 57 to the east and Ewood Aqueduct to the west, contributing to a linear group of canal structures that extends from Lock No. 52 to Ewood Aqueduct.
