Description
Bank Cottage, dating to around 1800, stands prominently on the canal bank. The building is constructed of stone and features a coved stone cornice. The front elevation has a central door, now sheltered by a modern glazed porch, and a two-storey bay window on each side. These bay windows incorporate three sash windows with stone mullions and sills. The rear elevation is lower, extending to three storeys (including cellars), and has three small sash windows on each floor. Bank Cottage, along with the British Waterways Office (No 50, Canal House), adjacent warehouses, and a capstan, form a notable group of canal-related buildings.
