Description

The sundial located to the south-west of the Church of St Hilda dates back to 1703. It features a square stone pedestal with an incised dial, although the metal gnomon is missing. The south face of the pedestal is inscribed with the words, "This was erected in ye year of our Lord 1703." The other faces of the pedestal have later inscriptions that include dates and the names of churchwardens.
