Description
Chapel House, built around 1808, is a two-storey red brick building with stone dressings and a slate roof, featuring an attic. The house has four bays, with all windows recently re-glazed. Prominently, there are two bay windows that extend through both storeys. The entrance is located between these bay windows and is framed by an impressive stone Tuscan doorcase, complete with attached columns and an open pediment, along with a decorative fanlight above. The two eastern bays are slightly set back from the main structure. A continuous stone sill runs along the first floor, and a band of unglazed buff, red, white, and black tiles creates a string course at this level. The house is situated on or near the site of a medieval chapel and replaces a mid-18th century building.
