Description
No 52, known as Olde House, is an 18th-century brick house with a Welsh slate roof, located on the south side of Boldon Front Street in Whitburn. The main house is a simple three-storey block featuring three tripartite sash windows, each with gauged brick flat arches and projecting sills. The central door is adorned with a patterned oblong fanlight and is set within a gabled porch that has decorated barge boards. The high-pitched roof is topped with two end brick chimneys. Attached to the east is a small two-storey house with two bays. This small house features an elliptical brick arch leading to a partly bricked-in carriage entrance, which now contains garage doors. To the west, there is a plank door beneath a flat arch of gauged brick, which is wider than the door itself, and there are two sash windows above.
