Description

No. 6 Old Vicarage Walk and Nos. 1-9 Harriet Place are two terraces built between 1976 and 1978 by Ralph Erskine's Arkitektkontor, with Vernon Gracie as the site architect and structural engineering by White, Young and Partners. The buildings are constructed of pale modular metric brick on a timber frame, featuring weatherboarding, with stone used for Nos. 20 and 21. They have blue metal monopitch roofs supported by plywood box beam purlins.

The structures are two storeys high, with Nos. 6 Old Vicarage Walk and Nos. 4 and 9 Harriet Place positioned at right angles. They include projecting single-storey outshuts beneath cat-slide roofs, with entrances located to the side. Nos. 1-4 have weatherboarding on both sides, while the east elevation is situated above a high retaining wall. Weatherboarding is present on Nos. 1-3 and on No. 4 above the projecting outshut. The west elevation overlooks a school field and features bright green eaves, green weatherboarding on No. 1, and a large green end bird box.

Nos. 5-9 Harriet Place and No. 6 Old Vicarage Walk have an east elevation with weatherboarding only above the outshuts, which are accessed via steps beside the high retaining wall. There is a built-in seat and table, and the side elevation includes a large green metal bird box. The west elevation showcases bright green eaves, red metal door hoods, and dark blue fences. The ends of the terraces function as retaining walls on the sides and form a group with Benson Place.
