Description

The Grainger Memorial Fountain is a Grade II listed horse trough and drinking fountain, dated 1892 and signed by the Elswick Court Marble Works Company in Newcastle. It is constructed from pink and grey granite and features a plinth, corner shafts, and a cornice with semi-circular pediments. The fountain has a dome topped with a finial, a semi-circular basin at the rear, and a rectangular trough in front. An inscription on the front panel commemorates Rachel and Richard Grainger.
