Description

No. 1 Neville Street is a goods station office building dating from around 1870, originally constructed for the North Eastern Railway. It is built of sandstone ashlar and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is one high storey with five bays, designed in the French Renaissance style, featuring pilasters that define each bay. The central bay has a double door with a blocked overlight, all set within a surround under a pediment. The other bays have wide round-headed windows. A dentilled cornice and a high parapet with pilasters and a cornice adorn the top of the building, which has a hipped roof that is raised over the central bay. The building now serves as various offices.
