Description
The Motorail Terminal is a goods station entrance built around 1870 for the North Eastern Railway. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features cast iron posts and brackets that support glass canopies. The front wall is one storey high and consists of seven bays, with panels and open arches in the first and fourth bays. The other bays have lunettes, paired in bays three to six, all with keystoned surrounds. The terminal has a hipped glass roof that includes a ridge vent. The iron posts, which have octagonal plinths and leaf capitals, along with brackets featuring circles in the spandrels, support the glass roof over the platforms.
