Description
Castle Farm Cottages are mid 19th century farm cottages located on Castle Farm Road in Newcastle upon Tyne. They are constructed from squared sandstone rubble and feature plain tile roofs. The cottages are arranged in two blocks, each consisting of one storey and three bays. Each cottage has a central gabled porch; cottages 1 and 2 have latticed wood porches with boarded doors beneath flat stone lintels, and a slit window above. The cottages are flanked by 4-light wood-mullioned-and-transomed windows, which also have flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills. The roofs are hipped, with ridge chimneys. The cottages are listed for their group value. At the time of the survey, cottages 2 and 3 were empty.
