Description

The Grainger tomb, located about 15 metres west of the Church of St. James, is a tomb built around 1861 for the Grainger family. It features a T-plan enclosure made of cast iron and ashlar, with dwarf walls that have chamfered coping. The Gothic-style arcaded railings include a lattice lower section and decorative elements at the top, such as acanthus buds and spearheads. The square corner posts are adorned with nail-head and cord moulding. In the centre of the tomb lies a plain sandstone slab.
