Description
Nos. 10 and 11 Eldon Place are two houses, now serving as university offices, built around 1828. They are constructed of English bond brick with painted ashlar dressings and feature a felt-covered roof. The buildings rise three storeys with attics and have two bays each. The doors are located in the outer bays, with an 8-panelled door on the left leading to No. 12 and a 6-panelled door on the right leading to No. 10, both featuring overlights and cornices. The left door has a panelled surround. The windows have wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills, though the glazing has been renewed. The hipped roof includes small segmental-headed dormers with sash windows that have glazing bars, and there is a central chimney. This pair of houses is an early example of a semi-detached design.
