Description
The entrance gate piers to Brandling House and the adjoining park walls were built around 1830 and are made of sandstone ashlar. There are two large gate piers with rusticated bases, each featuring cornices supported by concave brackets adorned with dentils and shell ornament. Atop the piers are elaborately carved urns with acanthus decoration. Both the front and rear faces of the piers display the Brandling family arms in deep relief, accompanied by the motto "FIDE ET VIRTUTE." The high serpentine walls are decorated with pilaster strips and a cornice.
