Description
Nos. 7-12 Summerhill Terrace are a row of terrace houses built around 1840 in Newcastle upon Tyne. They are constructed of English bond brick with a painted plinth and ashlar dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. Each house is two storeys high and features three or four bays. The entrance doors are eight-panelled and have been renewed for Nos. 9 and 12, set within architraves and topped with bracketed canopies. The windows have wedge stone lintels and aproned sills, with sash windows in Nos. 9 and 11 that include glazing bars. The houses also have eaves bands and a gutter cornice. The low-pitched roof includes brick chimneys, some with ashlar cornices, and No. 11 has an inserted dormer with bargeboards.
