Description

The gate pier of the old grammar school is a structure dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is made of sandstone and features a square shape with a moulded plinth and cornice. The top has a flat coping adorned with an urn finial. This gate pier has been relocated from the old grammar school, which was situated in the buildings of the medieval hospital of St. Mary the Virgin nearby.
