Description

Home Farm Cottages, originally a 17th-century farmhouse, is now divided into two cottages. The building is pebbledashed with a pantiled roof featuring end chimneys, stone copings, and kneelers. It has two storeys and an attic, with a three-bay façade. The windows have been replaced with modern casements. A Victorian central gabled porch with paired doors is set back from the main structure. The interior is plain, but the roof construction is similar to other late 16th and early 17th-century examples in County Durham, supported by pairs of stout curved timbers (curved principals or upper crucks) with collars and through-purlins.
