Description
St Mary's Rectory is an H-shaped building with gabled wings, originating from the 17th century or earlier, but significantly altered in the 18th and early 19th centuries. It is constructed of rubble stone with dressed quoins, now covered in harling. The building features a high-pitched roof, which has been renewed with modern tiles, and tall brick stacks. The windows are sash style with glazing bars in box frames, including two tripartite windows on the ground floor and one square bay from the 19th century. The entrance is highlighted by a Doric doorcase. Inside, there is a 17th-century staircase with stout turned balusters, square newels, and a square section handrail.
