Description
The Church of St Mary, built between 1856 and 1857 by S S Tenlon, is a small church designed in the early English style. It is constructed from snecked sandstone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof. The church has an aisled nave, a bellcote, and a south porch. The lower chancel includes a short south aisle, while the north aisle has been extended to create the Vane chapel, which is an elaborate small building with an undercroft. Inside the undercroft, there is a monument to Sir Henry Vale Tempest, created in 1813 by Westmacott.
